We have a multi-faceted volunteer
program that will give you a number of options to help us provide a healthy
short term environment for Mesa County displaced animals and assist us with
finding loving long term homes for our adoption pets. For instance, we have an
adoption follow up program and we need volunteers to help make calls to adopters
at 3-7 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months after adoption. If you like to talk to people
and assist them with questions, concerns, and behavioral solutions, then become
a volunteer with us.
If you are interested in finding out more information about our volunteer
program, click
here to view our orientation booklet.
Please click
here to download our application. After you complete the application you can
mail it or bring it to us at 362 28 Road, P. O. Box 20,000-5002, Grand Junction,
CO 81502 or call our volunteer coordinator at 255-5005 to set up time for an appointment.

As a volunteer, you could foster a puppy or ensure that each animal at the shelter has a good Christmas morning through the Angel Tree Program
In addition, we have a foster care program that will enable you to provide temporary care to an animal who needs a little time to become adoptable. It may be a puppy or kitten who needs a couple of weeks to reach the legal age to adopt (8 weeks), an animal who has been hit by a car and needs a couple of weeks for a broken leg to heal, or a momma with a litter of pups whose chance of remaining healthy in a foster care environment is much increased. If you are interested in our foster care program, please click here to download the foster care application and here for a foster care agreement sheet.
