29 ROAD PROJECT  

The concept of developing a corridor to connect US Highway 50 to Interstate 70 has been under consideration since the early 1980's.  Potential benefits of this connection include:

• Better access to and from Orchard Mesa through an additional bridge crossing of the Colorado River

• A reduction in traffic demand on the existing 5th Street Colorado River crossing.

• More direct access to I-70.

• Better access to commercial and residential areas.

• An overall reduction in out-of-direction travel.
