Bobbie was born in Meeker, Colorado, and raised in Palisade. She is the daughter of a hairdresser and a coal miner and worked her way through Palisade High School at Denny's and Lincoln and Orchard Mesa Pool. Bobbie scooped ice cream at Baskin Robbins while making the National Dean's list her freshman year at Mesa State College. She studied political science before being accepted into AmeriCorps National Civilian Corps. After serving and being stationed at the former Lowry Airforce base, she launched into business ownership at 23.

Bobbie is currently the Board Chairman of the Colorado Women's Alliance, a state-wide policy organization committed to research, advocacy, and education around issues most important to women. She is a graduate of the Leadership Program of the Rockies, a member of their advisory board, and a founding member of their Western Slope Leadership Ambassador Program Mentor Group. Bobbie earned her real estate license in 2019 to gain a greater foundation and in-depth knowledge of land use, zoning, property rights, and land development. She is actively involved in her community and was appointed to serve on the Mesa County Citizen Review Board; and is a member of the Grand Junction Rotary Club and Mesa County Cattlemen's Association. In addition, Bobbie serves on the St. Mary's Foundation Board and is involved in many roundtable focus groups around local solutions for homelessness, suicide, and mental health in Mesa County.
