Explorer Program
Do you know someone age 14-20 who has an interest in a law enforcement career?
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program is a unit that introduces youth to the world of law enforcement.
Members of the team observe in the performance of their duties for the agency:
- Deputies
- Criminal Investigators
- Administrative personnel
- 911 Dispatchers
- Agency volunteers
- Records personnel
Program duties
Program includes:
- High school internships
- Provides members an opportunity to participate and assist with special projects and community events
Activities provide an opportunity for:
- Youth to learn valuable skills
- Interact within the criminal justice community
- Gain a realistic picture of what a career in law enforcement entails
Time requirements
The Explorer Program meets an average of twice a month for training and project assignments.
