Recycling
The Mesa County Landfill provides recycling drop bins for residential use including cardboard, mixed paper, and commingled containers made of glass, plastic, aluminum, and tin.
Bins are open to residents during normal Landfill operating hours. Businesses who wish to recycle should visit Waste Management's recycling drop-off yard located at 1227 Winters Ave., Grand Junction, CO.

Cardboard bin

- Brown paper bags
- Paper towel/toilet paper rolls
- Cereal/food boxes
- Paperboard egg cartons
- Shoe boxes
No:
- Refrigerated/frozen food containers
- Food/grease stained materials
- Wet materials
- Styrofoam egg cartons
Please break down all boxes.
Mixed paper bin
Yes:
- Office paper
- Junk mail
- Magazines
- Newspaper
- Phone books
- Manila folders
No:
- Craft/tissue paper
- Carbon paper
- Fluorescent paper
- Wax paper
- Food/grease stained paper plates, paper towels, napkins
- Wet materials
Please remove all plastic bags.
Commingled Bin
Yes:
- Rigid plastic food containers #1 - #7
- Glass food containers
- Tin/steel food cans
- Aluminum cans
No:
- Plastic wrap/plastic bags
- Plastic toys, totes, or other household items
- Oil/pesticide containers
- Styrofoam
- Aluminum foil/pie tins
- Dinnerware - plastic or metal
- Drinking glasses/Pyrex/ceramics/window pane glass
Please rinse all containers and remove all plastic bags.
