Human Resources Department

The Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the employee life cycle (recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees) and administering employee benefits.

The mission of the Human Resources Department is to support the goals and challenges of Mesa County Government by providing a workplace that is free from discriminatory practices and all personnel actions are fair and equitable. Our intention is to provide staff assistance to assure successful administration and execution of personnel policies, procedures, programs and services that promote a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communication, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect.

County Asks Governor for Senior Services Funding

The Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved a letter to formally request Governor Jared Polis to consider an increase in funding for senior services in the upcoming fiscal year state budget. This decision comes in light of Colorado's status as one of the nation's fastest-aging states, with one in five residents aged 60 or older. In Mesa County, this ratio rises to one in four.
