Cover your trash load

Out with the old and in with the new! As you replace household items and organize your home for the change of seasons, the Mesa County Landfill reminds you to tarp your trash when heading their way! 

All vehicles traveling to the Mesa County Landfill or related transfer stations must be covered and secured to prevent litter and safety issues along roads. For those who don't, fees will be doubled. 

Appropriate cover includes:

• Tarp or cargo net
• Blanket
• Carpet
• Mattress
• Any material which covers the entire load and is securely tied to the vehicle.
