Today, March 20, marks the first day of spring! If spring cleaning is one of the ways you like to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring, then stop by the Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility to drop off any household hazardous waste items you are finished with.

Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 3071 Highway 50, is open to residents to pick up or drop off household hazardous waste from Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

While you’re there, you could also pick up some paint for your next home project or some fertilizer to wake up your garden from the cold winter months.

Hazardous waste includes cleaning products, automotive cleaners, garden chemicals, aerosol cans, antifreeze, old gasoline, paints, motor oil, and more. Proper disposal helps prevent accidental poisonings and fire hazards in the home.
