Behavioral Health applies for three federal grants

Mesa County Behavioral Health applied for three Bureau of Justice Assistance federal grants to aid in the program’s efforts to remove barriers to mental health and substance abuse resources for youth and families and collaborate with community agencies to support diversion from criminal justice services during their April 23 public hearing. 

If awarded, Behavioral Health expects to use the two $550,000 grants to improve its collaborative response programs. 

The remaining grant applied for, totaling $825,000, would assist in Behavioral Health’s efforts to reduce the risk of crisis for individuals with mental or substance use disorders living in correctional facilities and improve their success in reintegrating into the community.
