This morning, County Commissioners approved a supplemental budget to authorize additional revenues and expenditures not anticipated in the adopted 2023 budget. Amendments to the budget include carrying forward unspent amounts from 2022, recognizing new revenues, and authorizing appropriations based on new information.

The Commissioners also amended the County's 2023 authorized staffing level by adding 21 new full-time positions across several departments to better serve our community's needs. The positions are as follows:

  • Seventeen positions in Criminal Justice Services to staff additional treatment services and community corrections beds
  • One position in County Administration to enhance public relations
  • Two positions in the Sheriff's Office to support behavioral health co-response
  • One position in Community Development to address a significantly increased workload

County Commissioners are committed to being accountable and transparent with budget and staffing decisions and believe these amendments will help improve and enhance the services we provide.
