The Board of Mesa County Commissioners joined forces with the Colorado River District and U.S. Rep. Jeff Hurd last month to host a small discussion about urgent threats and opportunities facing the Colorado River.

"I look around the table, and each one of you has contributed in so many ways to that conversation and to the efforts, especially around Shoshone," said Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel. "So thank you so much, Mesa County is honored to be with you in this fight to preserve this water."

The Board of Commissioners is excited for Hurd to articulate what was discussed in this meeting back in Washington, D.C.

"Water is life. Watching the roller dam documentary the other day, it'd be nothing but desert, barren desert if it wasn't for the water in this valley," said Chair to the Board of Mesa County Commissioners Cody Davis. "And instead it is a beautiful oasis, and we need to continue to fight for our water.
