At the Feb. 20 administrative public hearing, Mesa County took an exciting next step in addressing mental health needs within our community when the commissioners approved an $894,510 contract for the Mesa County Behavioral Health Building Remodel project at 551 Chipeta Ave. in Grand Junction.

The remodel will create a home for the Behavioral Health staff, offer a substation for Co-Response team officers, and provide two conference rooms and 10 offices for the team to continue providing compassionate and effective care to our community.

A State of Colorado Department of Human Services grant will fully fund this project.
