Strong community turnout kicks off Housing Needs Assessment
Thank you to the many residents who attended the recent Housing Needs Assessment open house.
The event brought together community members from across the valley to share perspectives on housing challenges, priorities and opportunities. Conversations focused on what is working, where gaps exist and what types of housing are needed to support families, seniors, workers and future growth.
The Housing Needs Assessment is a joint effort between the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County. The assessment will provide a shared understanding of housing conditions across the community and inform two separate Housing Action Plans — one for the city and one for the county — tailored to each jurisdiction’s priorities.
You can still participate
Residents who were unable to attend the open house can still share input by completing the countywide housing survey.
- The survey will remain open through March 31, 2026.
- It is open to all Grand Junction and Mesa County residents.
Community participation is an essential part of the Housing Needs Assessment process. Strong engagement helps ensure future housing strategies are grounded in local experience and data.
Complete the survey. Your input helps shape the future of housing in Mesa County.
