At their Nov. 26 public hearing, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved the purchase of a new pneumatic tire forklift for $107,834. This investment supports Mesa County Public Work’s Traffic Division, which relies on forklifts to load and unload materials for our annual pavement marking retracing program — helping keep our roads safe and clearly marked for all road users.

The purchase will provide:

  • Improved efficiency: Until now, the Traffic Division had to borrow a forklift from other departments, often leading to delays when the equipment wasn’t available.
  • Shared resource benefits: This new forklift will be stationed at our Coffman Road campus, making it available to other departments and divisions when their forklifts are in use or undergoing maintenance.
