During their Nov. 26 administrative public hearing, County Commissioners approved resolutions amending Mesa County’s 2024 budget and staffing levels to authorize additional revenues and additional departmental needs with updated information that was not available at the time of the 2024 budget adoption on Dec. 12, 2023. 

Budget amendments include recognition of new revenues received since the budget was adopted and authorization of additional appropriations for new positions added to the County's authorized staffing level.

Budget changes include:

      • $505,000 Regional Transportation Planning Office
      • $478,819 Sheriff’s Office
      • $165,122 Clerk and Recorder’s Office
      • $153,823 Behavioral Health
      • $123,029 District Attorney
      • $20,000 Criminal Justice Services
    • All Other Funds
      • $915,595 Department of Human Services
      • $317,400 Public Health
      • $100,000 Sheriff’s Office

The staffing level amendment will increase County positions by a total of 3 Full-Time Employees (FTEs) across two departments:

  1. Finance, +1 FTE
  2. Sheriff’s Office, +2 FTEs
