The new Board of Public Health met on June 6.  The Board placed Executive Director Jeff Kuhr on paid administrative leave. Mesa County Deputy County Administrator Todd Hollenbeck was unanimously selected as the Interim Director.

Todd brings over 23 years of experience at Mesa County, with strategic and project management, operations, budgets, and communications expertise. As the Deputy County Administrator, Todd leads a team of seven departments with over 200 employees and has had the opportunity to work closely with Mesa County Public Health on several projects over the years. His dedication to continuous improvement makes him a highly qualified professional capable of leading our team.

Since assuming the role, Todd has already engaged with the leadership team working with them to identify key priorities to ensure the continuation of our outstanding work. “I am fully committed to supporting Public Health and ensuring a smooth transition by providing them with the necessary resources,” stated Hollenbeck. He expressed his confidence in the team’s capabilities and determination, highlighting the unwavering strength of our operations and the exceptional customer service that defines our agency.

The County is still accepting applications for the Board of Public Health.  The new interim board members, Victor Yahn, Dr. Michael White, and Mona Highline, will serve while the County goes through the standard process of accepting applications from the public for board members.
