No Burn Advisory issued due to strong winds
May 12, 2025
Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory starting 12 p.m. on Monday, May 12 and lasting until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 due to strong winds. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for our area due to strong winds that are expected Monday and Tuesday. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 45 mph.
Instead of burning, consider these alternatives:
- Compost leaves and grass clippings yourself. This can improve water retention in your yard or garden.
- Rent or borrow a wood chipper for your tree and shrub trimmings. Chipped branches can also be good mulch.
