Thank you to all the residents who captured photos and videos for Mesa County Public Work’s  Ripple Effect challenge, which was made to encourage our community to protect our rivers and contribute to stormwater quality.

The contest wrapped up at the end of 2024, with a $25 gift card to Downtown Grand Junction awarded to a different contestant each month of the challenge. Community members made waves for a cleaner, healthier Mesa County with their efforts in picking up trash, cleaning up after their pets, properly disposing of chemicals, and other measures to protect our rivers.

Though the Ripple Effect challenge is complete, there are always ways to support positive change and keep our rivers clean year-round! A few ways you can contribute to stormwater quality are properly disposing of yard waste, pet waste, and household chemicals and washing your car at a facility rather than on your driveway.
