The Board of Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved a $275,000 contract with New GMCO, LLC for Mesa County Dust Control Mag Chloride during their March 11 administrative public hearing

The contract includes the purchase of magnesium chloride used to treat roads and the service of completing dust control to approximately 63.95 miles of unpaved low-volume roads in Mesa County this year.

A consistent dust control program not only minimizes dust but also helps keep gravel tightly bound — reducing the need for frequent re-graveling and saving taxpayer dollars in the long run.
