Today, Sept. 30,  Arna Hoffman, treasurer technician, became Mesa County’s treasurer to fill the position after the Board of Mesa County Commissioners appointed her to take over the vacant position.

“Arna Hoffman is well-qualified to serve as treasurer based upon her background, training, education and experience,” said Chair of the Board of Mesa County Commissioners Cody Davis. “The Board is grateful for such a seamless transition after Sheila’s resignation.”

On Sept. 9, 2025, the Mesa County Commissioners accepted the resignation of Treasurer and Public Trustee Sheila Reiner and recognized Chief Deputy Treasurer Jackie Campbell as the acting treasurer until a successor was appointed.

Under Colorado law (C.R.S. § 30-10-704), when a vacancy occurs in the Treasurer’s Office, the chief deputy treasurer is authorized to perform all duties until a successor is appointed to ensure uninterrupted service to residents.

Arna Hoffman will serve the remainder of the current elected term, which runs through December 2026.
