About the Drug Task Force

The Western Colorado Drug Task Force was formed in 1998 as an agreement to coordinate resources to investigate the illegal distribution of drugs with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Junction Police Department.

Since that time, the cooperation and coordination have spread to many additional State and Federal government partners.

The Task Force mainly focuses on illegal drug investigations. However, this talented group of investigators also:

  • Assist with locating and arresting dangerous wanted criminals
  • Work with other law enforcement officers on more complex criminal investigations
  • Provide education to children on the dangers of drugs.
