Whitewater Boat Ramp
The Whitewater boat ramp is located on the east side of the Gunnison River. The boat ramp is used mostly as a takeout point for people floating down the river from places like Delta and Escalante Canyon. The site features a restroom and carry, in and out access under the railroad tracks. Future expansion of the area may include trail heads to access the Gunnison River Bluffs.

Location: Turn on Desert Road off of Hwy 141 Follow Desert to the end then watch for signs directing you to the boat ramp.
Whitewater hill is a spectacular site that over looks much of the Grand Valley. The site is home to the Western Colorado Drag way, the Grand Junction Trap Club, and the Grand Junction Modelers club as well as the CDL certification training pad. Future planed usage of the site will include a regional public safety training facility currently being designed and constructed in 2012. The property is owned by Colorado Mesa University’s with a Intergovernmental Agreement between CMU and Mesa County for the construction and long term maintenance of the site.
