Following Permits can be completed online

The Annual Aerial Maintenance Permit is now available to apply for online

If you are going to be doing work which will impact the aerial space of a Mesa County Right of Way ie: overhead power lines, telephone lines, or fiber optic lines, you will be required to obtain a Annual Aerial Maintenance Permit.

  • Please apply for the permit at least 15 working days prior to starting your project.
  • You may be required to submit a Traffic Control Plan prepared by a certified Traffic Control Supervisor as well as a written narrative of your work.
  • The fee for the Annual Aerial Maintenance Permit is $100.00.
  • Visit the Mesa County Online Permit Website to the begin the process. Start the application process by clicking on the “Setup an Account” link at the top of the webpage. Fill out the required fields in the form and select “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form. You will be taken to the online permit application form. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your permit application.

The Construction Stormwater Permit is available to apply for online.

A Construction Stormwater Permit is required if you will disturb one acre or more (≥1) OR if you will disturb less than one acre that is part of a larger common plan of development or sale. A “common plan of development or sale” is a contiguous area where multiple separate and distinct construction activities may be taking place at different times, on different schedules, but remain related by a common contract or plan. Contiguous means construction activities located in close proximity to each other (within 1⁄4 mile).

A Construction Stormwater Permit must be obtained prior to any land disturbance.

In order to be issued a Construction Stormwater Permit, the applicant will be required to submit: 

    • Permit Application
    • Permittee must be designated on the permit, an individual who will be the responsible party for the project.
    • Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP). Please check the SWMP checklist for requirements
    • Stormwater Maps
    • Stormwater Fees
    • A copy of the CDPHE-CDPS approved stormwater certification

Visit the Mesa County Online Permit Website to begin the process. Start the application process by clicking on the “Setup an Account” link at the top of the webpage. Fill out the required fields in the form and select “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form. This will take you to the online permit application form. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete permit application.

The Surface Alteration Permit is available to apply for online.

If you are going to be doing work which will impact the surface of a Mesa County Right of Way ie: landscaping, sidewalks, curb and gutter, or improving an existing driveway, you will be required to obtain a Surface Alteration Permit.

  • Please apply for the permit at least 15 working days prior to starting your project.
  • You may be required to submit a Traffic Control Plan prepared by a certified Traffic Control Supervisor as well as a set of plans/drawings for your project.
  • The fee for the Surface Alteration Permit is $25.00.
  • Visit the Mesa County Online Permit Website to begin the process. Start the application process by clicking on the “Setup an Account” link at the top of the webpage. Fill out the required fields in the form and select “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form. You will be taken to the online permit application form. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your permit application.

The Underground and Utility Permit can now be applied for online.  

If you are going to be doing work which will impact a Mesa County Right of Way (ie: installation, replacement or repair of any water, sewer, power, gas, telephone or fiber utility), you will be required to obtain a Underground and Utility Permit.

  • Please apply for the permit at least 15 working days prior to starting your project.
  • You may be required to submit a Traffic Control Plan prepared by a certified Traffic Control Supervisor as well as a set of plans/drawings for your project.
  • The fee for the Underground and Utility Permit is $25.00.
  • Visit the Mesa County Online Permit website.  Start the application process by clicking on the “Setup an Account” link at the top of the webpage. Fill out the required fields in the form and select “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form. You will be taken to the online permit application form. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your permit application.
