Did you know you can support your neighbors, fellow farmers, and our community at large by taking one simple step to help eradicate the Japanese Beetle in Mesa County?

The Japanese Beetle is an invasive insect that feeds on many desirable plants, including grapes, peaches, roses, apples, sweet corn, trees, and turf grass, posing a threat to our beloved agricultural and agritourism industries here in the Grand Valley.

For residents living outside the hot zone, you can take action by treating your lawn with grub control granules, such as GrubEx, this spring or contacting your lawn care provider to complete the service. This treatment will help lower the Japanese Beetle population before they have the chance to spread.

Are you curious to learn more about the County's ongoing efforts to combat the invasive pests? Visit our Japanese Beetle Eradication page. Don't hesitate to contact the CSU Extension at 970-244-1834 for specific questions about the Japanese Beetle.

We thank you for your contributions to helping our community #BeatTheBeetleMesaCounty.
