The School Resource Officer (SRO) program
Our mission
To provide law enforcement presence and support crime prevention efforts in our assigned school and the neighborhoods and business districts surrounding these schools.
An SRO must engage in three distinct roles in their designated schools:
- Law enforcement officer
- Law enforcement counselor
- Law-related educator
These roles are vital to building relationships with students, school faculty administrators, and parents.

There are five School Resource Officers serving the Mesa County Valley School District 51 in unincorporated Mesa County.
