IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING OUR RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to unfold, the health and safety of our employees, our customers, and the community we serve is our highest priority.
The Mesa County Landfill is OPEN to the public during the PROTECT-OUR-NEIGHBORS phase of re-opening Colorado; however, residents are encouraged to utilize their commercial waste hauler and only visit the landfill when absolutely necessary.
The Hazardous Waste Collection Facility and the Organic Materials Composting Facility are OPEN with reduced hours. Both Facilities are open Thursday-Saturday, 8AM-4:15PM.
To limit overtime costs, ALL customers must be unloaded/loaded by our closing time.
Mesa County Solid Waste Management is a business subset (Enterprise Zone) of Mesa County government. Meaning we receive zero taxpayer dollars to own and operate the following programs:
Hazardous Waste Collection Facility
Electronics Recycling Program
Recycling Drop-Off Facility
Organic Materials Composting Facility
Outreach & Education Program
Due to regulatory requirements, ALL Solid Waste Management facilities must close during periods of high wind. This may include the Landfill, Transfer Stations, Hazardous Waste Collection Facility and Composting Facility. In the event of high wind, please call 241-6846 to check on the closure status of each facility.

Uncovered loads will be CHARGED DOUBLE- NO EXCEPTIONS!
HIGH WIND NOTICE- Per Colorado regulation, the Mesa County Landfill is required to close during periods of high winds. If you plan on visiting the landfill on a windy day, please call 241-6846 prior to coming out to ensure the facility is open.
